I made a flower!

Thanks to Davinie for pushing me to try a new technique. To make the flower, get circles of paper wet and then fold in the edges and let dry. I think this card turned out pretty good.

Workshop today

Here are the two projects that guests made at a workshop I had today. They are using some products from the Spring mini catalog, which only has 5 more days left.

I'm so anxious for the new Stampin' Up! catalog to come. I haven't received one yet. I'll be checking my mailbox everyday until I see it. I usually only check it maybe two times a week.

AC & Auction

We decided to get air conditioning. They installed it yesterday. I'm pretty excited. Plus they installed a new thermostat. It's all touch screen and has a huge display, so it's easy to see.

Today, we went to an auction. They had a nice Browning gun fire safe there that Dan wanted to bid on, but it went for too much so we didn't get it. I ended up getting a box of misc stuff. The reason I wanted it is because it had a label maker and a 4 pack of refills still in the package. I already have a nice label maker, but I am almost out of my last cartridge and I know they are expensive. So I ended up only paying $13.75 for the whole box, so it was a great deal. Other misc stuff in the box was box of envelopes, avery business cards, cd jewel cases, silver polish, spool of nylon twine, sharpie marker, paperclips, random stuff like that. Plus a gentleman gave me a 23x17 inch cutting mat (like for sewing, but I'll use it for scrapbooking) for free! He got it with some other items and he didn't want the mat, so he gave it to me. So I'm pretty excited about all I got.

I took another picture of our back yard today. Look how much the Lupine has grown in just the past couple of days and Kaeli is cute in this picture.
I just had to show another funny tongue picture of Kaeli too.

Fall Winter Preview 2007

Some of my customers should have recently received the new Fall/Winter Preveiw 2007 catalog. The preview catalog shows a few new stamp sets, some new accessories and the new In Color paper's. I'm very excited for the new catalog to come out July 1st.

Here is a funny shot I got of Kaeli. If you notice her tongue is curled, this was completely an accident shot. She must have been licking her lips or something.

Friday Evening Post

Here is another card using the Baroque Motif and Hugs & Wishes stamp sets.

It's kind of fun playin' with how I take pictures of the cards. Plus I have actions set up in photoshop to do the watermark and I made a new action tonight to change the size of the image to 3" so it's so easy. I love working with photoshop and actually knowing how to do some things with it. And I stress some things because there are so many tools and options in it. But I still love playing with it too.

This weekend I would like to take some pictures of my flowers in the backyard and then post to show how much they have grown. The wildflower seeds that I planted are about an inch tall, but some of the bigger plants are starting to bloom. My Lupine that I started from seed last year is blooming, which I am very excited about.

I love summer

I love summer because of the fruit, flowers and beautiful weather.

Birthday Card

I made this card this morning. The stamp sets are Year After Year and Hugs & Wishes. You can't tell in the picture, but the present is heat embossed. I used So Saffron ink and clear embossing powder. I got some photo tips from Kurtis, but I couldn't do the elaborate set up that he has.


I would like to sit down and make a better watermark. Mine is not "pretty", but it's readable so it works.

Havin' fun with new stamps

I made this card with the new Baroque Motifs and Hugs & Wishes stamp sets that are coming out in the Stampin' Up! catalog July 1st.


A little story... this early evening I got a little freaked out. An elderly male knocked at the front door. I opened the door and he already had the screen door open and started/tried to walk in. I immediatly tried closing the door on him and saying "No Sir, you can't come in, stay outside". He kept trying to come in and I was getting freaked out because I couldn't tell if he didn't know what he was doing or if he was really dangerous. Then he stopped and I asked him why he was wanting to come in and he said he was the kids grandfather. I told him no kids live here and then he looked around and said he must have the wrong house. He then wanted to tell me a joke to try to make it better. It turns out he is the grandfather of the kids across the street. We have a chocolate lab that was outside, so I wonder what would have happened if she would have been inside, if she would have sensed danger or my uneasiness about the situation.

I got new stamps in the mail yesterday. Here is a generic card I made. The flower is from Year After Year stamp set. It will be available July 1st in the new catalog.
