finger foods!

Jackson made his first attempt at finger foods! I bought some Mum Mum rice crackers for him and he liked them a lot. They are easy for him to hold and get in his mouth. They pretty much just melt, so it was easy for him to eat too. I tried cutting up little grapes, but he couldn't grab those yet. He thought it was neat though!

I have really tried hard this summer to line dry all laundry. It's been only like three times maybe that I've used the dryer.

I bought Jackson a new pair of overalls yesterday for $2 at a used baby clothes store.

This is where the clothes line is. I go out our garage to the side yard. This is also where Kaeli hangs out while we are gone during the day. You can't really see it, but there is a purple kiddie pool at the end for Kaeli too. The picture was taken around 5pm I think. It gets pretty good sun during the day, which is great because it bleaches all the stains out of Jackson's diapers.

We got an egg!!!

Yesterday we got our first egg from the chickens! Can't wait to see if we get another one today or maybe two!

My corn is growing hair too!

Kaeli walked over and sat next to us on the floor. I ran and got my camera and took some cute shots of them.

Another Fire Station field trip!

We took Wyatt and his Mom to the fire station today! Wyatt liked it a lot.

Jackson enjoyed pretending to drive the fire truck.

And he liked pretending to be the engineer on a big fire!

5 months old yesterday!

Jackson is now 5 months old!

At 5 months he is:
  • rolling over from back to front both ways (was at first towards right arm, now just started towards left arm a few days ago)
  • eating pureed foods great! (carrots, sweet potato, broccoli, green beans, avocado, papaya, peaches, baby rice & oatmeal cereals, and absolutely loves bananas!)
  • like I said before, grabbing at everything
  • when he's hungry he gets excited when you sign milk to him or show him a bottle
  • sleeps in his crib now from about 8:30pm to 4:30am, then a bottle and goes back to sleep till about 7am
  • takes 2-3 naps a day, I think he prefers 3 still because it's a stretch with only 2
  • when laying on his back, he strains his neck lifting his head wanting to sit up so badly
I lay him next to this toy to change his diaper and he loves rolling over to it and playing with it.

Fire Station field trip & more

This weekend Dan was at work, so we went and visited him and took some pictures.

Jackson is in his 'big kid' car seat! We switched him when we went to the coast. I liked the infant carrier I had, but I think he's safer in this one and it's easier to buckle him up in it.

Jackson loves to hold and chew on this spoon. A tooth has to be coming soon for the amount he loves to chew and drool on stuff.

grabbing at everything

Jackson is now grabbing at everything within his reach, including pulling (hard) on my hair when I hold him. He especially likes to grab and suck on my water bottle. He doesn't get any water yet, but sure likes to chew on it. He gets frustrated when we take it away.

sewing diapers

I've been sewing some more diapers for Jackson lately. He's just about out grown some other smalls that he has, so he will be in need of more soon.

And here he is wearing the new one!

No eggs yet, still waiting. Hoping to have some soon. This is one of the hens, we call her Blackbeard.

4 months and 1 week

Jackson and I went to visit my parents and family for an annual get together this weekend. We had lots of fun. And my Dad took some pictures of Jackson and they turned out great.

When I get back home, I'll have to take pictures of my sad corn. The night before I left, we had a big thunder/lightning and rain storm and half of them are laying on the ground. And Dan said we had another bigger storm last night, so now it's probably worse! Plus another storm is coming tonight!
