Happy Halloween from 2 sickies and a monster

Happy Halloween! Good thing Jackson doesn't know what he's missing, because Dan and I aren't feeling well today so we aren't leaving the house and probably won't be giving out candy tonight. So sad though. He's doing great though!

into the candy

Jackson got into the candy! ...just kidding, not really. But he did like playing with the candy!

Jackson is waving!

Ok, just to brag and document... Jackson waved tonight. We were at our friends house (Amy, Seth & Wyatt), saying and waving goodbye and Jackson waved! A bunch too, very obvious that he was waving (copying Amy) and that it wasn't just a random movement. When we got home, Jackson and I were walking through the house and I stopped at the mirror. I waved and said "hi" and he waved back too! So cute! . . .7 months and 3 days, marks the day he did his first sign.

I've been working on some signs for awhile now. We've done the sign for milk probably since his first month. And I've been doing signs for eating, drinking, water, banana, apple, cracker, kitty, dog, and outside somewhat regularly. But now I'm really going to be doing them more! And adding more regular ones. I would have thought kitty would have been his first sign since he's so into kitty, but I guess waving his easier to do so that's probably why. We really hadn't worked on waving much, some, but not much. Obviously enough though for him to get it.

7 months today!

Jackson is 7 months today!

I couldn't decide on the main picture. He would not keep still. He kept trying to tackle and eat the giraffe.

Right now Jackson is:
  • Still army crawling and practicing going on all fours, but not crawling regular yet
  • Today he has started going from crawling position to sitting! (like 8 times today, definitely is getting it down)
  • Sitting by himself really well now, doesn't fall back often at all
  • Sleeping good, like I said in previous post, going about a 6-7 hour chunks most nights
  • Playing with toys and can entertain himself for a good 20+ mins
  • Loves playing "boo" (like peek-a-boo, but I just scare him and say boo), he loves it when I surprise/scare him
  • Pushes food back in his mouth with the back of his hand (it's pretty cute)

Pumpkin Patch!!

We had a lot of fun. Jackson's favorite part was sitting wherever checking stuff out. Here are a bunch of pictures from yesterday.

Here Wyatt was loving on Jackson, leaning his head towards him trying to give him a hug. Jackson thought it was funny.

Jackson's first pony ride! ...he only lasted two laps though.

Pumpkin patch today!!!

We are going to the pumpkin patch today!! I'm so excited. Excited for taking Jackson, excited to get pumpkins, excited for pictures.

Took these the other day.

This one is super blurry, but the expression is so funny. He was trying to get the camera and was crawling off the couch to get it.

Last night, Jackson went to his first high school football game. We got all bundled up because it was chilly. Jackson stayed nice and cozy. His new mittens worked good too. He played for a bit on a blanket (on the grass) and then fell asleep after having a bottle.

family pic

My dad took this last time he was here (9-24-09) and I messed around with it in photoshop.

no teeth

Jackson loves it when I brush my teeth. He would always smile and stare at me. So I got him his own tooth brush. Now when I start brushing my teeth he gets super excited because he knows his is coming. It's so cute, he chews on it and moves it around like he's brushing his teeth ...not perfectly of course, but as good a 6 1/2 month old can.

sleeping

Consistently for the past 5 nights, Jackson has slept for 7-8 hour chunks! He suddenly changed from 5 hours to 7 hours, pretty much dropping one feeding in the middle of the night. Just wanted to document it.

didjeridu and naked

I didn't have the best aim with the camera on this one, but his smile is so cute.

I was playing the didjeridu for Jackson and thought it'd be neat to see how tall he is next to it at this age. (He isn't really standing yet, just leaning against the couch and he really can't do that long either.)

Jackson had some naked time last night. I wanted to get some shots of how he's getting up on his hands and knees.

winter already!?

We've already had snow this year and now freezing rain/sleet! We got all bundled up to check the chickens water and to let them out for a bit.

On the floor

Jackson does great playing on the floor lately. 99% of the time he prefers his stomach so he can play and army crawl around. He has started to get his tummy off the ground and be on his hands and knees, but can't move his arms or legs yet to crawl that way. He definitely is trying though! I find it interesting that he's not content with just army crawling, that he wants to find a faster way to crawl.

dressed up

This is from two weeks ago. I saw it again and forgot to post it.

This is a gift I made for a friend that just had a baby girl. I love this fabric, if I had a girl I'd make a ton of diapers out of it. There are two bibs (one small, one larger), burp cloth and a tag blanket.

army crawl

Jackson is army crawling everywhere now, especially after stuff he isn't supposed to have.

trying the diaper on

I had Jackson try his new diaper on. I got a funny expression and then a bunch of smiles.

Jackson had his 6 month doctor appointment today. He weighs 16 lbs 8 oz and is 28 inches long! The doctor said he was doing really well and got to see him army crawl and was impressed!

sewing

Here's what I've been up to lately. I'm doing 10 right now. I use the fitteds that I have sewn more than the prefolds right now, so I needed more!
