some More pictures

Woohoo!! The closet is done! Our closet only had one shelf and one rod going around the room on the three walls. There was a ton of wasted space above the shelf. I could only stack clothes so high before they fell over which was super frustrating. And then I was hanging so many clothes on the rod that it was starting to come apart from shelf. So I have been wanting to do something with it for awhile. Earlier this month we were at Home Depot and all their closet organizers were on sale, so I started dreaming about what we could do. So we splurged and bought the kits to build the closet. It's so much nicer! There is so much more room and so easy to put clothes away, I love it!

Here are two more of Kaeli in the snow yesterday.

Some pictures

No craftin' lately, but I wanted to post some pictures. The first one is while Dan was driving. We packed 8 of us in our expedition and drove over the pass to my parents to get some family pictures done. So I was in the middle row and took this picture of Dan.

It snowed yesterday!!! Here are some shots of Kaeli in our backyard.

This was the view this morning from my front door. (Info: 1/30 sec exposure, f/22, 125mm)

Which is better, color or BW? In this version, I wanted to keep the focus on the mountains, so the ground is a little dark.

I was driving in Prineville yesterday and I finally remembered to take a picture of this street sign. This is the biggest intersection in Prineville and it has the Main St sign posted on cardboard with duct tape. Pretty funny. Prineville is a great town.

And some exciting news! I got an email today from Alisha Gordon, the Cards magazine Editor. They want to publish one of my cards I submitted to them for the June 08 issue!! I'm so excited! I've never been published before, so this will be my first!

Stuff

This viewpoint is from the side of the road (at the entrance to the pumpkin patch's corn maze) on the way to Smith Rock State Park. One of my trips to the actual park I saw some people on the side of the road with their tripods out and taking pictures from this viewpoint. In my mind I thought they were kind of crazy, but then I looked at the view and it is a very pretty shot.

I made this card using Jan's monthly kit. It is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge #30. I was having a little bit of a hard time with it, so I went with the more funky/abstract take on it.

A card and Kitty screaming

Here is a card I made for Beate's challenge. The card used leftovers from my Jan Kit.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! except for the staples. Paper: Bali Breeze patterned paper, Black textured cardstock and Old Olive cardstock. Ink: Basic Black classic and White StazOn. Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment. Accessories: Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Pretties Kit, Colluzle circle cutter, paper piercer.

Here is a picture of kitty screaming at me wanting water. He's gotten into this bad habit of drinking water from the sink in the bathroom. So he will meow super super loud when he wants some.

Jan tagged me! So I have to list 7 random/weird/little-known things about me and tag 7 other people. I'm not going to tag anyone else, but if you want to play feel free to.
  1. We canceled our cable tv a couple months ago, so I watch The Office online.
  2. I can type like 90 wpm.
  3. I was a firefighter/paramedic for three years and then got a position as a deputy fire marshal.
  4. I quit my job as a deputy fire marshal to be a housewife, but now I'm somehow back part time.
  5. I love being on the computer, I'm a nerd.
  6. I ran the Portland marathon (26.2 miles) a couple years ago.
  7. We are going to Australia this summer for World Youth Day.

A few pages!

Here is a page I made using this month's kit. The picture is taken at Smith Rock State Park last month.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! except for the sewing machine, thread and computer/printer for journaling. Paper: Bali Breeze paterned paper, Basic Gray textured cardstock. Accessories: Buttons, White 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.

These two pages I made with my leftovers from the December kit. I didn't have much time to do any scrapbook pages in actual December.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! except for the sewing machine, thread and computer/printer for journaling blocks. Paper: Dashing patterned paper, River Rock and Old Oive textured cardstock. Ink: Chocolate Chip. Accessories: Silver Brads, Tag Sheets die cuts, River Rock Double Stitched Ribbon, and Old Olive Jersey Ribbon.

I created this page because when I look back at Christmas pictures I always like trying to see what presents I got. So this way I can look back and remember what I got. I contemplated to write who each present was from, but I decided to keep it simple.

All supplies used are Stampin' Up! except for the sewing machine, thread, DMC floss and computer/printer for journaling blocks. Paper: Dashing patterned paper, River Rock, Very Vanilla and Real Red textured cardstock. Accessories: Clear Buttons, Tag Sheets die cuts, silver brads, Real Red zigzag stitch Jersey Ribbon.
