So much fun!

The open house orders arrived in two big boxes! They are ready to be picked up. I will be calling people and dropping off the bags of goodies!

Also, I had my first actual workshop. My friend Amy hosted the party at her house. It went very well for my first one and I think it was a fun night with friends. The picture below is the table that was set up with all the supplies needed to make two free projects.

Now I've got to get busy planning my class for this coming Saturday. I will soon post what projects we will be making.

The Winners are...

After all door prize entries for the open house were mixed up, I had my mom draw names out for each prize.

The winners are:

  • $10 off coupon to Ami G.
  • Tickets and Tokens Stickers to Jodi I.
  • Bold Bright cardstock assortment to Andrea S.
  • 3 stamp bundle to Terri B.

Thank you to all that came and supported me in my first Stampin' Up! party. I had a lot of fun and hope everyone else did too.

Prizes

Tomorrow is the first day of my open house! I am getting everything finalized and ready. I hope I have a good turnout and that everything goes smoothly. Above are some of the door prizes that I'll be giving away. I'll also have a $10 coupon off an order or class from me!

Above is the card that guests can make at my open house. The paper is Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. The stamps are from Much Appreciated and Polka Dots and Paisley stamp sets. Guests can also make a scrapbook page too, but you'll have to come to the open house to see it!

This morning

This morning I scrapbooked three pages! The cat page is pretty simple. It's the same picture that I posted on my first post here.

The picture of Dan and Kaeli, I used adobe photoshop brushes that I downloaded from Designfruit. I love involving the computer in making scrapbook pages. This page I did a bunch.

This is my niece. It was so cute how she curled her legs up when I put her on her stomach. Her mom is getting her ready for bed, hence the yawn.

I love to take pictures

I love that I can take as many pictures as I want with my digital camera, plus see them right away. It took me awhile to switch to digital, but once I did, I was so happy.

Today, I worked 4 hours, cleaned the kitchen, took Kaeli to the vet (she needed a bordatella shot), and I just took a bunch of pictures of my cat and of my craft room.

I am inspired from Ali's class to take pictures of everyday things, like my scrapbook room. I want to do a "then and now" scenario. So in a year or more, I will take more pictures of my scrapbook room and compare them. I am sure they will change a bunch. I also want to take pictures of where I work now. Since I’ll only be in my “temporary” job four more weeks, I think it is important to document it. I call it my temporary job because I resigned (aka retired) from my job as a fire inspector. I retired before I knew about Stampin’ Up! (SU). I had no plans of doing any work for a little while. So I find it funny that I already found something before I’m even done working. However, even though it wasn’t planned, I think it is perfect. SU gives me an outlet to be creative. I’m excited that I’ll be able to “pretend” watercolor. You can just stamp an image down and then color it in with the Aqua Painter and it looks like a watercoloring. It’s so cool.

More Supplies!

The supplies I ordered for the Open House arrived today. I will soon post the two projects that guests will be making at my Open House. I'm excited for the Stampin' Spots I ordered. They are small ink pads and an affordable way to go to get a variety of colors for starters. Then if you find a color you like a lot, then you can buy the bigger stamp pad.

Here is another cool project I made at Lisa's class. It opens up and candy or other gifts can be put inside. It could be a fun idea for my future classes or stamp clubs.

Back from the Scrapbook Convention

I went to Portland (OR) for the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention this weekend. It was a lot of fun. I went with my mom, mother in law and sister in law. The vendor expo was fun, but crowded. I only took two classes. One was a three hour class taught by Ali Edwards. She is such a great teacher and so inspirational. In the class we made a little mini book in a metal case. It was a fun project. It was neat to meet Ali. She is like a celebrity in the scrapbook world.

Open House Information!

I am holding a two-day open house to kick off my start of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. It is Friday March 23rd and Saturday March 24th. The information is on the right of the screen too. Guests will be making two free projects using Stampin' Up! supplies and I will also have some great door prizes!

Card

Here is a card I made at Lisa's Stamp Camp. She is the Stampin' Up! Demonstrator I signed up under. I go to her classes so I can learn more and get ideas for how to do my classes/workshops. It was a fun card to make. The stamp and punch are both from the new Spring Mini Catalog. The stamp is in the Doodle This set, which I love. And I also love that I can make my own tabs and put them wherever I want.
I've been busy planning my open house. I've got the card and 6x6 scrapbook page that guests can make at my open house designed. I will release the information about the open house very soon.

In the mail

I had a huge smile on my face when my packages arrived yesterday! It was a lot of fun opening everything. Stampin' Up! keeps the price of their stamps down by having the customer assemble them. So I spent awhile cutting out the images and sticking them onto the wood blocks. The Craft & Rubber Scissors that came with the starter kit are awesome. They cut the stamps so easy. I had won a stamp set from a party I went to and tried to cut it out with a pair of my scissors... well that didn't go well. So I was excited to finally have a nice sharp set of scissors.
Now my plan is to watch the training DVD and start planning my first workshop. I'm so excited and happy to be starting this.
